The founding of REGULIQ.

Every story starts with humble beginnings. Our journey began with two men, fuelled by a deep passion for making a difference and an unwavering determination to transform that passion into a global business.

Stephan Drayer

Co-Founder & MD — Engineering

Stephan's passion for cars ignited a journey from automotive mechanic in Ingolstadt — home of Volkswagen — to mechanical engineering in Munich. Specialising in prototype testing and engine analysis at VW and Audi, he joined Germany's FEV Research Society, where he contributed to BMW three- and four-cylinder engine development and the hybridisation of the i3 and i8. His deep understanding of engine operations revealed that nearly 100% of engine-related repairs stem from contaminated operating fluids and fuels — a realisation that would fuel REGULIQ's founding mission.

Mark Aring

Co-Founder & MD — Business

Raised on a farm, Mark learned early the values of hard work and perseverance. To fund his business administration degree, he launched a furniture-moving business that grew into a multi-country family enterprise in second-hand performance tyres. Through hands-on trading and entrepreneurship, he developed a keen understanding of his customers' needs — and recognised the opportunity to help businesses reduce operating costs while improving fleet reliability and sustainability.

The founding of REGULIQ.

Driven by high aspirations and recognising that no other company offered anything like their vision, Stephan and Mark founded REGULIQ AG in 2015 in Switzerland. The name is inspired by the concept of “regulating liquids” — reflecting the company’s unique ability to transform ordinary fuels into premium products.

Their young company quickly became a pioneer in helping businesses reduce operating costs, making vehicles and machinery more reliable and sustainable — all without requiring significant capital investment or incurring debt.
